The Courtyard are looking for a well organised, outgoing new team member.
This is a great opportunity to join our young creative team as our new Duty Manager.
Initially the role is part time, 24 hours a week with the possibility of expanding to a full time position after a two month trial period. We are looking for someone who is flexible with their working hours however will generally be required to work three evenings a week from 5:30pm until 12:30am.
In this role you will be responsible for helping us maintain and improve the general appearance of our bar and theatre spaces.
The Theatre Manager will work closely with the Venue Coordinator and Artistic Director.
Areas of responsibility
Front of House and Operations
(Reporting to the Venue Coordinator and Artistic Director)
To work closely with the Venue Coordinator to oversee all Front of House Operations.
To help lead and motivate a team of front line staff, ensuring that all team members have a flexible and friendly approach and that they feel part of the organisation
To manage all operational matters relating to the front of house and bar operations.
Ensuring that all aspects of front of house, bar and theatre areas provide a welcoming environment to customers and potential customers.
To oversee and manage the bar staff rota.
To act as Duty Manager during shifts where there is a performance, to liaise with production staff and Theatre Clients and visiting companies to control the venue’s performances. To be responsible for the well being and safety of the audience, overseeing cashing up and managing the front of house and bar team and locking up.
To ensure that visitors with special needs or access requirements are catered for appropriately.
To work with the Theatre Programmer to help ensure that the theatre is properly prepared for every event you are responsible for.
Responsible for standards of cleanliness within the theatre, most especially through shared management and training of the front of house staff.
Ensuring that front of house expenditure is controlled effectively during your shift.
The Theatre Manager is jointly responsible for ensuring that the theatre is compliant with current licensing and health and safety legislation and reports to the Venue Coordinator on all logistical aspects of the day to day running of the building.
